Who We Are
Colors at Danton was first started by the combined efforts of Nighat Shaheen and Neelam Bangash. Nighat Shaheen, who has extensive experience in childcare, wanted to continue helping children grow in a safe environment and educate young teachers how to raise a balance child. Her passion and care for children derived the establishment of Colors at Danton, which was made possible by the insight and efforts by Neelam Bangash. In May of 2015, Colors at Danton opened welcoming children of ages 12 months to 6 years.
Our Teaching Methods
We follow the educational method developed by a combination of appropriate techniques of Dr. Maria Montessori and Reggio Emilia, which provide each child the opportunity to develop essential learning habits. Colors at Danton Montessori and Childcare’s programs are reflective of the need to provide stimulating experiences for children that help them develop mentally and physically. We believe that each child is unique in nature, temperament and pace of development. Scientific research indicates that children are more active participants in their environment. Also, they are by nature problem-solvers and much more capable than we realize.
Learning is a continuous process and providing the opportunity to explore and interact with the environment gives the child an opportunity to grow and develop. Keeping this in mind, our caring and qualified teachers are putting their best efforts to enhance and challenge the distinctive needs, interests, and abilities.
We are committed to maintaining continuity and consistency throughout the program by conducting cooperative staff planning, training, and a variety of activities. It is our goal to help the community shape a bright future for our children.
We are strong believers of open communication. We try our best to build a positive relationship with the families. In order to build a positive relationship with the families, Colors at Danton Montessori and Childcare arranges a parent night in August and a holiday party in December. These gatherings provide families, staff, and board of directors to get to know each other and share their ideas. Also, parents are always welcome to visit the center and volunteer during our planned trips.
We welcome you to bring constructive feedback, questions and topics for discussion that are oriented towards a positive outcome for the children. We take parents ideas as an asset and appreciate their contribution. Parent's involvement can help Colors at Danton Montessori towards successful child care.
